Amandari , Bali

Enjoy luxury Bali, Indonesia travel to Amandari (peaceful spirits) which is located in the village of Kedewatan, on the fringe of Bali’s cultural capital, Ubud. Amandari (peaceful spirits) is located about 60 minutes from Denpasar’s international airport, and 10 minutes from the arts community of Ubud in Central Bali. Perched on an escarpment high above the winding Ayung River gorge, the resort follows the design of a traditional Balinese village. Pebbled walkways link the thatched-roof suites, each of which has its own walled garden. Amandari provides a unique setting from which to experience the cultural richness of Bali’s artistic centre as well as its mountainous region to the north.

Balinese-style stone gateways front Amandari’s 30 walled, freestanding thatched-roof suites. Coconut wood and teak are used throughout, while the bamboo-frame roofs layered with alang alang thatching emit a fresh, rural fragrance. Amandari's 30 luxurious suites and single extraordinary villa were designed in deference to the lush vegetation and rice terraces surrounding the hotel. Each suite reflects the charm and honesty of the local village within which this luxury hotel on the island of Bali was created.

Three sided, floor-to-ceiling glass walls create a sense of openness, while your suite's terraced location and thick green tropical plants protect the privacy of your garden courtyard and personal pool. It will be tempting to lounge by the lotus pond and spend your days around the sensational infinity pool overlooking the sacred land of the Ayung Valley, but you must not, because the cultural riches of Ubud await.

The open-air Restaurant, crafted largely of teak, overlooks Amandari’s swimming pool and the Ayung Valley. Western and local Indonesian dishes are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The adjacent Bar, with its terrace seating, enjoys a similar setting and views.

Amandari’s luxury Spa is located at the end of a winding andesite path and features two open-air bales, a beauty room, sauna and marble steam room. Surrounded by a lotus pond, the bales seem to float peacefully above the water.

Staying in Amandari is truly a blissful experience…..
